1, electric car charger - floating charging intermittent use of the battery or only in the AC power outage battery, the charging method for the floating charge type. The charger is connected in parallel with the battery, and the charging current can mainly supplement the loss of self-discharge, i.e., about 0.3% to 1.0% of the 10h rate range, while the usual load is borne by the charger, and for a short time, the large load is also powered by the battery. 2, electric car charger- equalization charging For many single cells composed of a battery pack, such as the fixed battery, after a certain date of operation, to regularly equalize the charge. This is because normally, when charging according to the same conditions, the active material of each part of the pole plate appears to be charged to different degrees, and as a result, the active material appears to react unevenly. In addition, taking into account that certain charging and discharging characteristics of single cells also differ from each other, some single cells will produce a state of undercharging. Therefore, after the end of normal charging, continue to charge with a current of about 20h rate for 1 to 3h. This kind of charging is also called overcharging. Where the battery is normally used under the same conditions, it is advantageous to carry out periodic equalization charging on battery maintenance.
The length of time between equalization charging each user has different provisions, some provisions for three months or half a year. In recent years, according to the progress of battery design and manufacturing technology, the characteristics of the battery are not very different, so the interval of equalization charging time has a tendency to extend.
3, electric car charger - constant voltage current limiting charging is mainly used to remedy the shortcomings of constant voltage charging when the charging current is too large (the same method as constant voltage charging) by connecting a resistor (current limiting resistor) in series between the charging power supply and the battery being charged to automatically adjust the charging current.
When the charging current is too large, the voltage drop across the current limiting resistor is also large, thus reducing the charging voltage; when the charging current is small, the voltage drop across the current limiting resistor is also small, and the voltage loss at the output of the charging device is also small. In this way, the charging current is automatically regulated so that it does not exceed a certain limit. This method is now widely used in the initial charging of maintenance-free batteries and the supplementary charging of ordinary batteries.
4, Electric vehicle charger - constant voltage charging means that every single battery is charged at a constant voltage (generally taken as the number of single cells × 2.5V). Its main characteristics are: the initial charging current is quite large, the battery-electric potential and electrolyte relative density rise faster, with the continuation of charging current gradually decreases, only a very small current through the end of charging; charging time is short, low energy consumption, general charging 4 ~ 5h battery can get its own capacity of 90% ~ 95%; if the charging voltage is properly selected, 8h can complete the entire charging process, and the whole charging process does not require human care. And the whole charging process does not need human care, so it is widely used for supplementary charging.
The shortcomings of constant voltage charging are: because the initial charging current is too large when charging a battery with excessive depth of discharge, the initial charging current will rise sharply, which will easily cause an overcurrent of the charged battery and damage to the charging equipment; during the charging process, the charging current cannot be adjusted, so it is not suitable for initial charging and desulfurization charging of the battery; because it is difficult to compensate for the change of the battery voltage during the charging process, so it is difficult to compensate for the change of the battery voltage. Since it is difficult to compensate for the change of battery voltage during charging, it is difficult to complete the charging of batteries with slow capacity recovery.
